Tittle: The cause and mechanism of atherosclerosis requires revision
๐ฌ Presentation Overview
๐งฉ Background Perspective
Understanding the true cause of atherosclerosis
remains a subject of ongoing debate. This work presents a critical
re-examination of atherosclerosis by integrating human observations,
experimental findings, and published scientific evidence.
๐
Central Proposition
This study proposes that the primary
initiating factor of atherosclerosis is the periodic leakage of arterial blood
into the venous system, rather than lipid accumulation alone.
⚙️
Vascular Mechanical Changes
Repeated arterial blood leakage leads
to a reduction in tissue pressure within the stretched muscular layer of
arteries. This mechanical alteration plays a key role in initiating vascular
wall damage.
๐งฌ
Endothelial Disruption
As tissue pressure decreases,
endothelial dysfunction develops, creating microscopic crevices within the
arterial lining.
๐งช
Lipoprotein Entry
These endothelial gaps allow
low-density lipoproteins (LDL) to be drawn into the vessel wall, marking the
beginning of lipid infiltration and structural injury.
๐ฉบ
Disease Progression
As vascular injury advances,
atherosclerotic plaques may subsequently develop in other arterial regions
beyond bifurcation zones.
